Join us to urge Foreign Ministers to prepare the table for peace on the Korean peninsula and include feminist women’s movements in peace talks!
On January 16, 2018, as Foreign Ministers from 20 nations gather in Vancouver, Canada, to discuss security and stability on the Korean Peninsula. Sixteen women leaders representing peace, environment, women’s and social justice movements from across Asia, Europe, and North America will also be there urging the Foreign Ministers to use diplomatic measures to peacefully end the conflict and to invite the women's coalition to participate in the discussions.
Research shows that women’s inclusion in peace processes not only yields actual peace agreements, but also more durable ones. A peaceful and diplomatic solution to the Korean conflict is the only acceptable path forward and so women must be at the peace table!
As the summit gets underway inside on January 16th, the women’s peace delegation—led by Women Cross DMZ— will gather outside to hear from Korean women, receive messages of solidarity from around the world, and send a message of peace to the ministers.
Join the Thunderclap to send your own message of peace and solidarity, and urge the Foreign Ministers to include women in the talks—and find a peaceful solution for the Korean Peninsula!
