This year marks the 10 year anniversary that I, Andrew McMahon, am cancer free and in remission. We want to use this moment as a chance to make a difference for other people who are just now encountering cancer at a young age.
There are 72,000 newly-diagnosed adolescent and young adult patients each year in the population that ranges from 15 to 39. While many consider these to be the most formative years of a person’s life, this population suffers a well-documented deficit in research and attention from the cancer community. This shortfall has lead to a 30-year stagnation in the improvement of AYA survival rates compared to all other age demographics.
What we want to do is raise a dollar for every one of the 72,000 adolescents and young adults that will be diagnosed this year.
On August 24th, join the Dear Jack Foundation and me in spreading the word about the 72k Challenge and helping us raise the $72,000.
