Support Equal Pay for Women!

The Equal Pay Today! Campaign is a nationwide, federal and state-based campaign working to close the gender wage gap by addressing the many causes of pay inequality, including discrimination against pregnant workers and new mothers, lack of paid family/sick leave, pay secrecy, and occupational segregation.

On Monday, August 26, Women’s Equality Day, join EPT! Campaign members in a call for action to close the gender wage gap.  Women earn on average only 77 cents for every dollar paid to men.  The gap varies by race, by occupation, by education level, and by state, but it persists in nearly every industry in the country.  Because the gender wage gap exists in every state in the nation, the Equal Pay Today! Campaign is targeting the Governors of all fifty states.  We need your support too.  Join us in calling on your governor to take steps necessary to ensure equal pay for women in your state and throughout the country.

To learn more about the Campaign, go to: https://www.aclu.org/womens-rights/equal-pay-today. Campaign members include: A Better Balance, American Association of University Women, American Civil Liberties Union Women’s Rights Project, California Women’s Law Center, Equal Rights Advocates, Gender Justice, Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center, Legal Momentum, Legal Voice, National Center for Law and Economic Justice, National Partnership for Women and Families, National Women’s Law Center, Southwest Women’s Law Center, Women Employed, Women’s Law Project.
