by National FCCLA category: Education
Students nationwide are graduating from high school feeling unprepared for college and careers. FCCLA addresses this issue by providing students with leadership training through career and technical education and by teaching the soft skills many students are missing. These skills aid a student’s transition into a successful future, both in their careers and families.
FCCLA provides members with opportunities to compete in career-applicable competitions ranging from interviewing skills and impromptu speaking to technology used in teaching. Working with materials from FCCLA’s National Programs, members participate in projects and events that grow students’ knowledge in personal finance, traffic and pedestrian safety, consumer responsibilities, technology, health and wellness, and more.
Join us in supporting strong families, college- and career-readiness, and technical education that gives our youth the edge they need to succeed in their future.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) provides today’s teens with experiential opportunities and resources to explore career pathways while developing necessary skills for life through Family and Consumer Sciences education. With over 160,000 members nationwide, FCCLA also focuses on a variety of youth concerns, including financial literacy, traffic safety, teen violence, peer pressure, nutrition and fitness, substance abuse, pregnancy and parenting, and family relationships.
