Thank you for supporting our Thunderclap campaign.
No horror movie can compare to the real life horrors of flooding.
Floods can destroy homes, displace families, damage possessions and in the worst cases, take lives.
We’ve seen nightmare scenarios unfold across the Caribbean and the USA recently with Storm Irma. Not to mention the devastation caused by Storm Desmond, Eva and Frank when record-breaking levels of rain caused severe damage in parts of the UK in winter 2015/16.
Thankfully, it’s not all doom and gloom.
This Halloween, we’re using the power of social media to let people know that by checking their flood risk and signing up for the Environment Agency's free flood warning service, they could help to save lives.
Join our Thunderclap on 27 October 2017 to help spread the word.
Signing up is easy. One visit to www.floodsdestroy.campaign.gov.uk and signing up for warnings could be a life-saving decision and help to keep your friends, family and possessions safe.
Our world-class warning system, allows people to PREPARE – ACT – SURVIVE depending on the severity of the forecast. Knowing what to do could be the difference between surviving a flood event or experiencing a real life horror.
Please help by sharing the #floodaware campaign with your followers and friends by joining our Thunderclap.
We can reach more people together and keep more people safe if it does flood.
The Flood Action Campaign, organised by the Environment Agency, aims to increase the number of people who check their flood risk. Check your postcode, sign up for free flood warnings and find out more www.gov.uk/floodsdestroy
