We would like as many of you as possible to post a video of yourself saying, Who you are, What your vulnerability is and Why you are a leader.
At the end of the video please nominate someone else (or more than one person) who is an inspirational leader and ask them to pay it forward and take up the challenge to post a similar video.
We know not everyone is happy making videos, so you can write it in a post or as a word document and screen shot it and attach to your post, then post it on twitter, Facebook, instagram, in your whatsapp groups, anywhere and everywhere!!!! and you can nominate as often as you want too.....
Also don't wait to be nominated................just do it!!! Get involved with #maternityleader and tell as many people as you can and get them involved too.
We can then retweet everyone's videos and messages as much as possible to try and break the internet with our positivity and vulnerability. This isn't a long term strategy, it's a quick win but it will generate interest in leadership and hopefully start a conversation.
The value in this is in saying "I see you, I see how it feels to be you and I feel it too. You are not alone". Sometimes just knowing you are not alone in your experiences and hearing someone else voice your fears is enough. It changes the conversation. Sometimes it's enough to get you back through the door again after a horrific shift or a crushing disappointment.
This project will give us an audience for the long term goals we are in the process of setting that will impact leadership in maternity and ensure our future as a profession.
