What is “Supporting”?
Supporting a Thunderclap campaign is like signing a petition but with the added power of simultaneously sharing a message. You and every other supporter are standing up for an idea with the power of your voice.
How do I support?
Choose between your Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr account to grant Thunderclap permission to post a message on your behalf. That’s it! If the campaign reaches its support goal by the deadline, Thunderclap will automatically post your message and all other supporters' messages at the same time.
A note on privacy
When you log into Thunderclap using your Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr account, you’re allowing our platform to share a single message on your behalf. That’s all. We use the absolute minimum permissions possible to post a message on your behalf. The platforms we integrate with sometimes include additional permissions that we do not use and we will not post anything from your friends' accounts.
Friday November 21 is the 40th anniversary of the Birmingham pub bombings, an event that traumatised a city, ended the lives of 21 Brummies and injured hundreds more.
As time passes, the city's memories might be fading, but not the sense of injustice felt by the victims' families, who are still waiting for justice.
After the wrongful conviction of the Birmingham Six was overturned, no-one has been brought to justice and punished for this atrocity.
The Birmingham Mail has been campaigning solidly for a new inquiry into the bombings, and as the anniversary approaches, we want to bring this forgotten crime back to the forefront of the thoughts of Brummies and the whole country.
Please help us by backing our innovative and powerful social media initiative, which is a real first for a media campaign of this type.
At the precise moment the first bomb went off 40 years ago, your Facebook and Twitter accounts will publish a simple message of commemoration for the victims, with a call for an inquiry. Your message will be published simultaneously with those of everyone else who has also signed up.
You can be part of an extraordinary moment which will show the families that their loss and suffering hasn't been forgotten - and it may even help persuade the government to open an inquiry.

Hello everyone, Thanks to everyone for their support. We're just 70,000 short of 1.5m social reach. If you could get a friend, relative or colleague to sign-up before 8.17pm, that would be amazing. Thank you again for your support and help remembering the victims and continuing the fight for #justice4the21 Birmingham

Hello everyone, Thank you again to everyone who has signed up to support this Thunderclap. We've now smashed through 1,000,000 social reach and our initial target of 500 supporters. Many of you have used the "Spread the word. Invite friends to join the Thunder." option on our Thunderclap page. Please take 30 seconds to do this today if you can. And ask relatives, friends and colleagues to sign-up via Twitter and Facebook. Help us support the #justice4the21 campaign and remember the victims of the Birmingham pub bombings. Thanks, Birmingham Mail
Even better than that, please ask friends, relatives and colleagues, to take two minutes out of their day to follow you in supporting the Thunderclap. They can join you in being part of an extraordinary moment which will show the families that their loss and suffering hasn't been forgotten - and it may even help persuade the government to open an inquiry.
We are the Birmingham Mail. An integral part of the city for more than 130 years, serving the community through our award-winning website and daily paper. Proud to support the campaign for #justice4the21
