Rare Disease Day is an opportunity to call upon government policy makers, industry, researchers, universities, students, NGOs, clinicians, consultants and physicians to raise awareness on rare diseases and share the importance of the following themes:
• The role of research & development
• Access to medicine
• The importance of diagnosis for early intervention
• Coordination of care, evaluating therapies and treatments
• Patient case studies
In an ongoing and annual campaign for Rare Disease Day, Mediaplanet is working with key opinion leaders to produce thought provoking content that raises support and awareness: continuing the conversation on rare diseases throughout the year. For example, charity organisations have such incredible stories to tell - between families, patients, researchers and healthcare professionals - and we want to help them share.
We’re doing this with the help of EURORDIS: a non-governmental, patient-driven alliance of patient organisations representing 738 rare disease organisations, in 65 countries. They bring together the voice of 30 million people affected by rare diseases.
Designed to unite thought leadership and stimulate conversation
throughout the year, and not just on Rare Disease Day, the campaign
aims to offer an informative and motivational tool in order to generate
awareness and prompt action to raise more support on rare diseases.
Rare Disease UK is the national campaign for people with rare diseases and all who support them.
