Nurses and Midwives face an increase in their registration fees to £100 per year (increasing to £120 from 2015). This from a regulatory body given £20m to offset this, but decided to increase fees anyway. The NMC have been advised not to increase fees by the government and a recent report stated 'the NMC lacks proactivity in pursuing cost savings.' In this age of austerity nurses and midwives cant afford an increase to their fees while their regulatory body spend more and ignore advise to reduce costs
i'm a nurse and cant afford to pay more to work.
