Duke Energy’s neighbors have been living on bottled water for 1,000 days - (or nearly 3 years!)
For 1,000 days they have carried case after case of water into their homes and tried to carry on with life while knowing their tap water could harm them and their families.
However, in that time DEQ has still not ordered a clean-up of the coal ash that is affecting groundwater wells, nor has it set groundwater standards that protect the health of all well water users.
Stand with community members as they say enough is enough!
It is time for DEQ to take action. DEQ should order Duke to clean up its coal ash and recycle it or dispose of it safely above ground on Duke’s property.
DEQ should set groundwater standards that are protective of public health, and not let poisoned wells from corporate polluters put more people at risk.
