Mt Polley disaster 3 yrs later

On August4, 2014, the dam that held the waste from Imperial Metals' Mount Polley mine in Central British Columbia collapsed, leading to the largest mine waste spill in Canadian history. The impacts on the surrounding rivers and lakes, including Quesnel Lake, one of the deepest fjord lakes in the world and birthing waters of salmon, have been devastating. It's time for justice and accountability!

This August 4, join Amnesty International Water Defenders, Concerned Citizens of Quesnel Lake, First Nations Women Advocating Responsible Mining, Northern Confluence, United for Mining Justice, Salmon Beyond Borders, Rivershed Society of BC and others to remember the devastating impacts of the Mount Polley Mine Disaster and honour your own watershed.
