This Earth Day, will you make sure the EPA knows we want strong carbon pollution regulations on Big Polluters?
Carbon pollution from fossil fuels is driving climate change, transforming our weather, disrupting our livelihoods, and threatening our future. The culprit? Dirty power plants that the United States allows to dump unlimited amounts of carbon pollution into our air.
From a multi-year drought that covered the western sections of our nation to a super storm that caused over $65 billion in damages; from wildfires spreading across the West to severe flooding in communities all across our country, we’ve seen how extreme weather events are made worse due to limitless carbon pollution emitted into the atmosphere. We call these combined ripple effects of climate change the #CostOfCarbon.
What’s more, carbon pollution from power plants is entirely unregulated in the United States. It’s unchecked and it’s costing all of us dearly.
A groundbreaking rule proposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), if adopted, will change this picture. The rule will significantly limit the amount of carbon pollution new power plants are allowed to dump into our air and help ensure a safer, cleaner, and healthier future for us all.
Today, we have the chance to stand up for our future – and our children’s future – and rein in unchecked carbon pollution.
The next generation will thank you for taking this important step.
The Climate Reality Project is bringing the facts about the climate crisis into the mainstream and engaging the public in conversation about how to solve it. We expose the lies of special interest groups denying the reality of climate disruption and help citizens everywhere take meaningful steps to bring about change.
