by Pancreatic Cancer Action Network category: Cause
As the national leader in the fight against pancreatic cancer, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network has a bold goal to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020. Currently, the five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is just 6 percent and in a recent report published by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, projections indicate that by the year 2020, pancreatic cancer will move from the nation's fourth to the second leading cause of cancer death.
Now more than ever we must work harder and faster to grow our community of scientists, increase annual federal research dollars, enroll more patients in clinical trials and increase national awareness by attracting more advocates, volunteers and participants to our cause.
The National Call-In is an opportunity for all Pancreatic Cancer Action Network supporters across the country to add their voices to those who will be in Washington, DC on June 17 for Advocacy Day, to tell Congress that they must Stomp on Pancreatic Cancer by increasing funding for cancer research.
