Brave Women Afraid to Love

‘Marrying out’ for women is still taboo in Muslim circles. Many women who have relationships outside their faith have to endure a dual life; hiding from their family.

Hidden Heart aims to generate public discussion around the subject of interfaith/cultural relationships so that they can be better addressed and understood. This film will resonate with people across the globe, cultures and belief systems, who are under pressure from tight-knit communities to maintain a prescribed identity.

Something is going on in our society that we should do something about. If you believe this is an important story to tell, please help us reach as many people as we can, by spreading the word in one THUNDERCLAP!

Here’s what we’re asking of you:

Please share this video with as many people as you can (shar.es/MxSjF) through Tweets, Facebook updates, blog posts and emails, on Wednesday 9th July at 17:15 GMT+1 (London)

How to help out even more:

1. If you pre-order your own copy of the film now, and so do only 6 of the people you share this with, we will reach our crowd-funding target and hire the skilled editor we need!

2. Of course it's wonderful if you can donate some money to our crowd-funding campaign, which will let us complete the rough edit of the film. But even more important is spreading the word, to ensure that this film speaks to people far and wide.

3. If you'd like to track the progress of the film, please sign up for our mailing list at www.hiddenheartfilm.com

Our heartfelt thanks for all you do!

Hidden Heart is a collaboration between Filmmaker Zara Afzal of Zygo Films and Executive Producer Christopher Hird of Dartmouth Films.

Hidden Heart is an in-progress documentary film that chronicles the joys and sorrows of four brave British Muslim women who have fallen in love with men outside their faith. In crossing this delicate divide, they encounter shame, guilt and prejudice from within their families and communities.
