#WaterWorks for jobs & economy

Water is the Backbone of the U.S. Economy

Without it, businesses could not operate, cities could not thrive, we could not live. One-fifth of the U.S. economy from energy production, to resource extraction, to agriculture and manufacturingwould grind to a halt without a reliable and clean supply of water. If water infrastructure fails, it creates a domino-effect across the economy and threatens our environment and public health.

The Risk of our Nation’s Water Infrastructure Failing is High

After working around the clock for more than 100 years, these systems are aging and failing.  In 2013, U.S. water and wastewater systems received a D grade. While local water agencies are doing their best to keep up with needed capital improvements, an estimated $4.8 trillion in capital investment is needed over the next 20 years to bring water and wastewater systems to a state of good repair and maintain current levels of service in this country.

  • Water Leaders in Washington, DC on 9/10/14

    September 8, 2014
Water leaders from around the country are on their way to Washington, DC today! We are holding a #WaterWorks press conference on Wednesday, September 10 at 10:45am EST, followed by a Congressional briefing.

For over 100 years, utilities across the country have been putting people to work to construct, operate, and maintain the water and wastewater infrastructure that we rely on daily.  By joining our Thunderclap, you have shown your support of investment in infrastructure which will drive jobs creation and boost the US economy. We are truly grateful.

The press conference will stream live at www.WaterWorksCampaign.org.

Thank you for your continued support!
