Our NWP Week
Join us during the week of September 29–October 3 for the first-ever Our
NWP Week, a week to celebrate the 40-year history of the National
Writing Project and look forward to 40 more years of innovative teaching
and learning. Throughout
the week, we’ll be sharing photos, quotes, treasures from the archives,
and stories that celebrate our roots. We invite you to connect with us
on Facebook, Google+, and Twitter to join the conversation by following the hashtag #OurNWP on any platform.
We invite you to contribute to creating a useable and forward-looking history of the NWP through your participation and through contribution to the NWP Archives Project.
Through generous gifts from long-time NWP site leaders, staff, and
board members, we have raised $50,000 towards the establishment of an
archives that will support future scholarship of the NWP network as a
foundation for teacher leadership and powerful teaching and learning.
During Our NWP Week, with your support, we hope to match these
contributions by raising an additional $50,000.
NWP Week is a celebration of our accomplishments to date as we look
forward to the innovation and possibilities to come. Through our
stories, reflections, and artifacts, we will better understand what we
have been and imagine what we are becoming. We hope you’ll make a
financial contribution to ensure that teachers, scholars, journalists,
and others will have access to our important documents and history. We
also hope you’ll share your experiences on social media and contribute
to the conversation.
