I've been a flight attendant for 15 years, and I'm proud to work in a country that has high standards of aviation safety. I care for my passengers' safety, and believe that our safety standards should be high, and stay high. They're worth fighting for.

Fly Safe in Canada!
An Airplane Emergency can mean smoke, darkness, confusion, flame, noise and terror.

In-flight coffee should be the least of your worries.

A flight attendant's real job is to keep you alive.

If your plane crashes, will you get out before you are overcome by smoke or heat? That may depend on there being enough flight attendants for a safe evacuation. We've seen this happen with Air France 358 which skidded off the runway and burst into flames at Toronto's Pearson Airport in 2005. A full complement of flight attendants managed to get everybody out alive - in less than 90 seconds.

A safe number is one flight attendant for every 40 passengers. That's been the Canadian standard for almost 40 years.

But the Harper government is bowing to corporate pressure to lower the number of flight attendants on Canadian aircraft to one for every 50 seats. That's an unacceptable compromise in passenger safety.

A special exemption for fewer flight attendants has already been given to Westjet, and now other airlines are seeking the same exemption. Soon new rules - less safe ones - could be in place.

Help us keep Canada's skies safe. Please sign our petition and speak out.

*** Support this message with social media ***
Thunderclap is optimally effective when participants agree to 'Back' the message on their own social networks. With your support, the platform 'borrows' your social network for a nanosecond - in our case on June 10th at 10am - and releases a very coordinated message on a huge scale. When the program asks for access to your profile, contacts, and permission to post on your behalf, it's ONLY for this specific campaign, nothing else. Please allow the tidal wave to be as effective as possible by allowing the platform to link to your social media networks... thanks!

From the FAQ:

What exactly am I agreeing to when I authorize my Facebook or Twitter account?
You are allowing Thunderclap to share a message on your behalf. This is only the case when you click the “Back this Message” button AND we will only share it if the project reaches its goal. We will not post any additional messages.

Will you post to my feed or to my friends as well?
Just your feed, we won't spam your friends. That wouldn't be nice.
