Victims' Voices Must Be Heard!

Stand with Senator Gillibrand in support of the Military Justice Improvement Act to ensure victims' voices are heard.

In 2012 alone, it's estimated that there were 26,000 unwanted sexual contacts, assaults and rapes throughout the U.S. military. But of those, only 3,374 were reported.

Victims tell us time and again that they don't report these crimes because the decisionmaking authority lies within the chain of command.

The Military Justice Improvement Act will remove this authority from the victim's chain of command and place it in the hands of trained independent military prosecutors where it belongs. Only then will victims feel that justice can truly be done.

Join the fight to reform the military justice system today.

As Chair of the Senate Armed Services Personnel Sub-committee, Senator Gillibrand held the first hearing on sexual assault in the military in nearly a decade. She is fighting to pass the Military Justice Improvement Act on the floor of the Senate this month to make sure the voices of the victims of sexual assault are heard.
