Sproutlings is a community publishing project from Hunter Anthologies in Newcastle NSW Australia, edited by Morgan Bell, on the theme of wicked plants.
Sproutlings sought out the most fresh, most original, most weird new talent and new ideas from established talent. Authors were asked to be wild, be wonderful, and write things that have never been written before. New words, new phrases, new twists on old ideas. There will be 40 contributing authors in this anthology.
Everyone was welcome to submit flash fiction and poems between 150 and 2,000 words (submissions closed May 2015).
Morgan Bell is a qualified Technical Writer with a Grad Cert in Technical Communications from Swinburne University of Technology and a Cert in News Media. Morgan published her debut collection of short fiction, Sniggerless Boundulations, in January 2014. She is a resident film and book reviewer at Salty Popcorn, and regular volunteer with community literary events such as Newcastle Writers Festival, Hunter Writers Centre Travel Prize, the Grieve Project, and the She: True Stories Project.
