Sign up to end modern slavery

December 2 is International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.

And believe it or not, there are more people trapped in slavery today than at any time in history. If you agree that's outrageous, then it's time to take action.

The International Labour Organization's Protocol on Forced Labour could restore hope and freedom to millions of people trapped in modern slavery. But first it has to be ratified by countries around the world.

The goal of the 50 for Freedom Campaign is to persuade at least 50 countries to ratify the Protocol on Forced Labour by 2018.

Support this thunderclap to call on world leaders to ratify the Protocol on Forced Labour today!

  • We made it!

    December 2, 2015
In just a few short days, 500+ supporters have signed up to share a message of freedom on International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.

Thank you for being one of them. A few weeks ago, we counted the supporters of the 50 for Freedom campaign in the hundreds. Today, we're counting them in the thousands. Tomorrow, thanks to you, we'll be counting them in the tens of thousands as more and more people make their stand to end modern slavery.

We have a long way to go. So far, just two countries have signed the ILO Protocol on Forced Labour: Niger and Norway. We have two years to persuade at least 48 more to follow their lead. But with the tireless work of advocates around the world--and the help of dedicated supporters like you--we know it's possible.

If you're ready to take the next step and start campaigning in your community, here are a list of resources and ideas to get you started.

So thanks again for supporting the 50 for Freedom Campaign and remember: let's not just be angry at slavery, let's make change happen.
