The mission of the American
Diabetes Association® is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives
of all people affected by diabetes.
On April 7, 2016, Diabetes
Advocates from across the country will make their voices heard during our Capitol
Hill Advocacy Day! Unless we take action now,
one in three Americans will be diagnosed with the disease by 2050. And with
every diagnosis, another American faces terrible complications and even death.
The American Diabetes Association urges Congress to make diabetes a priority. Will
you join us and tell your members of Congress that diabetes must be stopped?
- Allocate $2.262 billion for NIH’s
National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases
- Provide $170.129 million for the CDC’s
Division of Diabetes Translation
- Support $25 million for the National
Diabetes Prevention Program
The Association asks that you
dedicate your Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr status/post to help spread the word
about our advocacy efforts. By inviting your friends and family to participate
we can ignite a dialogue about the importance of preventing,
treating and curing diabetes.
