Every 2 minutes, a child dies from malaria: a preventable and treatable disease.
25th April is World Malaria Day, a day when people all over the world join together to show their support in the effort to end this disease. However, for billions of people, every day is malaria day. With almost half of the world’s population still at risk of contracting malaria, and almost half a million malaria deaths annually, there is still much work to be done before we can live in a world free from malaria.
In an ongoing partnership with Malaria No More UK, Roll Back Malaria and recently the MENTOR Initiative, Mediaplanet has been launching an annual integrated malaria campaign in time for World Malaria Day for the past 5 years. The campaign launches as an annual report and has a dedicated website: www.malariaawareness.co.uk
Designed to unite thought leadership and stimulate productive debate, each year the campaign aims to offer an informative and motivational tool in order to generate awareness and prompt action to tackle this debilitating disease.
