HaxeFlixel Open Source Gamedev

HaxeFlixel is a free and open source cross-platform game framework. It lets you deploy your games as native c++ desktop  & mobile apps (windows, mac, linux, android, iOS, etc), as well as to the web (html5 and flash).

So far we have done this entirely with volunteers. But for only $3,000, we can hire a professional -- the project's own founder, Alexander Hohlov - for a whole year! (He's Russian -- purchasing power is different there).

This is a community effort, so HaxeFlixel game developers have donated copies of their free & commercial games as pledge rewards. Join the party!

  • A big thank you: Let's give it 200% and beyond!

WOW, thanks so much to everyone who has supported us so far!

Thanks to your participation, we just made our thunderclap target with a "social reach" of 138,196! I'm not quite sure what that means, but I did notice that my twitter timeline absolutely exploded with chatter about HaxeFlixel!

And you haven't just been spreading the word, you've been putting your money where your mouth is, too! As of right now the IndieGoGo campaign has nearly reached 200% of our goal!

Let's keep the message going strong! Let's keep telling everyone about HaxeFlixel so we can raise as much support as possible and make the project as great as we can!

And now a special personal thanks to all our individual super funders, as well as our corporate sponsors:

    Super Funders ($100+):
    Terry Langeveld
    Rotten Mage
    Justin Ma
    Franco Ponticelli
    Tiago Ling Alexandre
    Peter Tripp
    George Kurelic
    Kevin Purcell

    Silver Sponsor ($250+):
    Anonymous
    Ludoko Studios
    David Capello

    Gold ($500+):
    Solar Powered Games
    Gian Prescilla

    Platinum ($1000+):
    Blue Bottle Games

    Unobtanium ($3000+):
This could be your company! We only have one unobtanium sponsorship available so act fast!

All sponsors will receive logos (with site link) on the HaxeFlixel website with size and prominence in proportion to the sponsorship tier, and in all cases will last for either one full year or until we run another fundraiser, whichever is longer. Additionally, sponsors will receive prominent thanks in the HaxeFlixel credits module that all HaxeFlixel game developers can choose to include in their game.

All individual "funder" tiers will also be listed in the credits, see the IGG page for details.
  • Success! Giving it 174%!

WOW, everybody, thanks so much for your support!

Not only have we reached our Thunderclap goal of 100 supporters, which means our social media burst is now set to go off, I just checked in this morning and our IndieGoGo campaign has reached an astounding 174% of its goal!

    https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/haxeflixel-games-software/x/4880813#/

This extra money will make a huge difference as it lets us give Alexander a raise, extend the duration of his employment, or both. If we keep raising funds at this rate, entirely new opportunities for improving HaxeFlixel will open up -- we'll post updates on the specifics when we have them.

Let's keep going and see if we can get even more Thunderclap supporters -- we need a safety margin in case somebody has to opt out, and also the more supporters we get, the bigger the burst will be!

When the thunderclap goes off we're hoping to make an enormous splash and raise even more money for this project, and hopefully get some media attention as well, so keep up the good work and continue to spread the word about HaxeFlixel!

As a final reminder -- this isn't just about money and support, it's also about growing our community. A lot of people are being introduced to HaxeFlixel for the first time because of this campaign, and that means not only new users who get to make great new games, but also means new contributors for the framework itself.
