Candy Crowley: Ask Candidates What They’ll Do To Address The Corrupting Influence Of Big Money In American Politics!
On October 16th, more than 70
million Americans will tune in to watch the second Presidential election debate
in Hempstead, NY. With the end of the most costly race in history just
weeks away, this will be one of our last opportunities to force both candidates
to take a stand on the ever-growing domination of Big Money in politics.
Two-thirds of independent swing voters agree that reducing the influence of money in politics and well-funded special interests is “a very important factor in my vote.” *Well, given that this town-hall style debate will feature questions from undecided swing voters, we think it’s high time those voters got the real answers they need to the question they care about.
And we’re not alone. Google recently hosted a forum for people to submit and vote on the questions they wanted to hear at the debate. Guess what the second most popular question (with over 2,000 votes) was?:
"If elected, will you support a constitutional amendment to effectively reverse Citizens United v. F.E.C. and create realistic campaign finance reform that will eliminate all corporate money from all elections?"**
It’s clear that the American people want answers. Let Candy Crowley know we need her help to get them. Add your voice to the growing call for accountability, and together we can define the election narrative!
