Join World Psoriasis Day 2016!

October 29 is World Psoriasis Day – a day to raise awareness of psoriasis (a severe, chronic, inflammatory non-communicable disease) and celebrate the courage of the 125 million people worldwide who live with psoriasis!

Every day, people with psoriasis have to overcome difficult barriers to access their basic human rights at work, in school, in the healthcare system and in social relations. These barriers can include stigmatization, prejudice, missed opportunities, and a lack of proper diagnosis, adequate treatment and care. This can be psychologically devastating and causes suffering that could have been prevented.

That is why IFPA wants to break these barriers on World Psoriasis Day! This year’s campaign includes a colourful film on the "Breaking Barriers" theme. The film tells the story of Anna and Peter, who suffer from psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. To help them and the global psoriasis community, IFPA wants to FIGHT the barriers of prejudice, stigma and discrimination. On October 29, we want to RAISE hope and awareness by spreading knowledge and understanding. Our goal is for all people with psoriasis to GAIN access to proper diagnosis and treatment, with improved life quality as a result.

On October 29, you can break barriers for Anna, Peter and anyone in your life who is living with psoriasis. Join the movement now!
