Did you know that 1 in 6 properties in
England is at risk of flooding?
Many people don't know how to check whether their home is at risk and are unsure what action to take if it floods.
Would you know if you were at risk?
On 1 November we're launching our national flood action campaign, which aims to make more people #floodaware. We need your support for this to succeed.
We can reach more people together and keep more people safe if it does flood. Please help by sharing the #floodaware campaign with your followers and friends by joining our Thunderclap.
Last winter homes across the north of England were damaged as storms Desmond, Eva and Frank brought record-breaking rain and devastation to families at Christmas.
Floods can damage homes, displace families and destroy possessions. In the worst situations they can also kill.

What is a Thunderclap?
We want to spread the word about the importance of preparing for flooding. By joining our Thunderclap all the people who support the flood action campaign will post the same message at the same time. This will increase the impact of the #floodaware hashtag and encourage more people to check if they’re at risk from flooding and sign up to our free flood warnings.
Joining the Thunderclap means only one single message can to be automatically shared via Twitter and/or Facebook on your behalf. Once this one message is posted no further posts or tweets can be sent from your account.
Be reassured that the text of the post or tweet listed above cannot be edited. You also have the option of opting out of the Thunderclap if you change your mind closer to the launch date.
The Flood Action campaign, organised by the Environment Agency, aims to increase the number of people who check their flood risk. Check your postcode, sign up for free flood warnings and find out more at www.gov.uk/floodsdestroy.
