Well, 2016 was quite the year, wasn’t it? Some are even writing that “feminism lost,” and many of us are noting that women – particularly professional women – haven’t made as much progress as we’d hoped. The old rules for success have only gotten us so far.
So how do we move forward?
2017 can be our year to #OwnIt. That’s because underlying the headlines is some great news: business is changing – and fast – driven largely by technology. And it’s changing in ways that give women more power and opportunities than ever…more than we realize. Better yet, we have the ability to accelerate that change. And it’s not through trying to win at the men’s version of the game (thank goodness), but instead through embracing the natural strengths we bring to the workplace.
In this book, I put on my research analyst’s hat (but I hope not in a boring way) to lay out the case for a future that is coming our way; I also share my hard-won lessons (and they all seem to be hard-won) to give practical advice on how to navigate – and shape – the future. The great news: this is good for us, our families, the economy and society.
The change is real, and it’s coming fast. It’s time to own it.
