My loving sister,(48 years young), was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. 12 days after open enrollment ended through the health care market. She can not get insurance now for nearly a year. She has worked the same job for 26 years dedicating her life to the residents in her facility that she loves, along with raising her daughter and being a devoted wife! She has zero benefits. We have reached out to every cancer organization and because she isn't poverty level, she doesn't qualify. Susan G Komen is sending her 60.00 a month which is greatly appreciated but that doesn't touch the expense of this disease.
I am doing everything I can for my sister; she is more like a mother to me, all in order to ensure she get swift and quality treatment so we may put this behind us ASAP. Even the state ran hospital required a large amount up front before they would even schedule her oncology. Not only is she facing breast cancer, she is facing financial difficulties and of course, the a fine from the government for not being able to afford insurance. HOW IS THIS EVEN LEGAL?????
I will update as we get more info on her prognosis. We just need your help. #savemysister #pimpjoy #give #pray #godbless
