by National Clean Air Day category: Environment
Across the UK, air pollution is having a major impact on our health, with dirty air contributing to 40,000 deaths every year in the UK. Many of the UK’s cities exceed the safe and legal limits for air pollution, which is mainly caused by road transport. Children are especially vulnerable to the effects of air pollution, so we must act to protect their health.
By taking action now on the first ever National Clean Air Day, we can all immediately help reduce air pollution and look after our health. If you act today, we’ll all benefit today.
National Clean Air Day
The UK's first ever National Clean Air Day is taking place on 15 June 2017. A wide range of organisations including local government, health organisations, charities and businesses are coming together to help people across the UK reduce and avoid air pollution.
National Clean Air Day is co-ordinated by environmental charity Global Action Plan.
