We use water every day and it means something different for all of us.
22nd March is World Water Day and we will be sharing stories from
our entrepreneurs and communities from our recent innovative project to discover
what water means to them.
Over the last two years Pump Aid has been testing a different
approach of reducing water poverty which no longer depends on financial aid
from NGOs or government funding, ensuring communities have access to water forever.
So far we’ve been trained 25 local
entrepreneurs in Malawi to set up their own water business to repair
and sell pumps and provide clean water in their own communities. In less than a year over 20,000 people now have access to clean water due to this project.
We are running this campaign to help encourage the discussion of why we need to solve water poverty differently. To find out more about our campaign and how you can get involved please visit our campaign page - World Water Day: Water #MeansToMe
Pump Aid provides some of the most poorest and remote communities in the world with clean water and safe sanitation through training local entrepreneurs to build and maintain their own water pumps.
