The industry is coming together to celebrate the power of local news as part of Local Newspaper Week
(15-21 May). Making a Difference showcases the powerful campaigning the local media industry undertakes on behalf of its readers. These can vary from raising money for food banks and the homeless, to raising awareness of the health dangers of energy drinks for school children, to campaigning against cuts to health services.
Making a Difference sees 28 shortlisted local newspaper campaigns up for a public vote. The vote is live from 15- 17 May and the winning campaign will be announced at the Regional Press Awards on 19 May.
