The Royal British Legion

The Royal British Legion is the national custodian of Remembrance, a role which ensures that those who gave their lives for peace and freedom are remembered.

Remembrance is not just about those who fought in the two World Wars of the last century, but also about those involved in the many other conflicts worldwide since 1945 and those still fighting for peace and freedom now. It is also about learning from the past and resolving to make the world a better place to live in the future.

Two Minute Silence

"If we are to maintain our peace and freedom, we must always remember."

Help The Royal British Legion use the power of social media to commemorate the fallen with the largest ever show of online Remembrance.

By pledging your support you will automatically send a message to your followers on the morning of November 11th, in advance of the Two Minute Silence, reminding them to pause in memory of the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The act of observing a Two Minute Silence began in 1919 following the Armistice at 11am on 11 November 1918 at the end of the First World War. It has become the biggest annual demonstration of public support for any cause in the country.

Remembrance is not just about those who fought in the two World Wars of the last century, but also about those involved in the many other conflicts worldwide since 1945 and those still fighting for peace and freedom now. It is also about learning from the past and resolving to make the world a better place to live in the future.

Join us in commemorating Remembrance Sunday by standing together at 1100 on Sunday November 11th.
