2017 marks the 40th anniversary of IVF success in the UK yet access to NHS fertility treatment still varies depending on where you live.
In Scotland, all eligible women under 40 can access the #IVFGoldStandard - 3 full NHS IVF cycles, including access for couples where one partner has a child from a previous relationship. Sadly, the situation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is radically different and deeply unfair for eligible women under 40.
In England, 90% of areas do not enable access where one partner has a child from a previous relationship, and 87% do not provide 3 full NHS IVF cycles. In Wales there is acccess to 2 full NHS IVF cycles and in Northern Ireland one partial NHS IVF cycle; both countries enable access for couples where one partner has a child from a previous relationship.
We believe all eligible individuals under 40 across the UK should have access to the #IVFGoldStandard and are campaigning to make this happen; please join our Thunderclap and help us to do this. This campaign is part of National Fertility Awareness Week 2017.
