#BeThere for Military Families

Show your support for military families.

Your Facebook post or tweet will show you care about military families on post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD Awareness Day.

Many of us want to show our support for Service members and their families, but don’t know where to start. Peers and friends can make a big difference in reducing the stigma associated with reaching out for help just by encouraging them to make the call. This Thunderclap campaign gives you an opportunity to be there for Service members and their families by making sure all military families know how to get the peer support they need when they need it. Fellow Veterans and military spouses will be there for military families — whether they are struggling with PTSD or any other challenge — through the BeThere Peer Support Call and Outreach Center. You’re letting military families know they aren’t alone and help is available.

 Here’s how you can be there for Service members and their families:

1.     Join this Thunderclap. This campaign will share one Facebook post or tweet on June 27, 2017, PTSD Awareness Day. Your message of support for Service members and their families will unite with others around the globe to send an identical message at the same time.

2.     Share the opportunity. Encourage all of your friends and family members to join this Thunderclap campaign by sharing this page on your social media accounts today. (Feel free to come back and share as many times as you like).

BeThere Peer Support Call and Outreach Center
@DoDPeerSupport

We are the Department of Defense-sponsored BeThere Peer Support Call and Outreach Center. We provide resources and peer support for the everyday challenges faced by Active Duty, National Guard, Reserves, and their families. Our peer specialists are Veterans and military spouses who have lived the military life and now serve military families by being there to answer these free and confidential calls, texts or online chats, 24/7/365.
