We're helping end childhood hunger in America and you can help! There is Black Friday and Cyber Monday. What about Giving Tuesday?
Childhood hunger is a big problem with a simple solution. We can end child hunger in America. Hungry children suffer. And 16 million kids in America aren't getting the food they need. $1 connects a child to up to 10 meals. $10 = 100 meals, $25 = 250 meals. You get the picture. If we reach our goal of $25,000, we'll provide hungry children with access to 250,000 additional meals. Also, for every dollar raised, up to the $25,000 goal, Tyson Foods will match, dollar for dollar!
So we could raise over $50,000 in a SINGLE DAY, equating to 500,000 MEALS!
What is the Team No Kid Hungry Give-A-Thon?
It’s a one-day social media blitz designed to raise $25,000 (and then doubled by the generous donation from Tyson Foods) —in a single day—for No Kid Hungry. We are aligning our holiday Give-A-Thon this year with #GivingTuesday, a movement and day dedicated to giving. We are using our twitter and Facebook communities to spread the word and join us in this passionate day!
What We’re Asking
We’re asking our Team No Kid Hungry community to donate, and also recruit other advocates and donors in the fight against childhood hunger on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.
In order to end childhood hunger, Team No Kid Hungry needs to continue raising critical funds to put programs in place that provide access, education, and awareness.
How You Can Participate
Ask your friends and followers to join in the Give-A-Thon to help No Kid Hungry, where they can potentially win great prizes in the process. Also, use your influence to recruit advocates and donors in the fight against childhood hunger. The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending childhood hunger a national priority.
We’re ending childhood hunger by connecting kids to effective nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals. This work is accomplished through the No Kid Hungry network, made up of private citizens, government officials, business leaders, and others providing innovative hunger solutions in their communities. These partners work together, implementing solutions that break down the barriers that keep kids from healthy food.
Through its Cooking Matters program, the No Kid Hungry campaign educates and empowers low-income families to stretch their food budgets so their kids get healthy meals at home. Cooking Matters participants learn to shop strategically, use nutrition information to make healthier food choices, and cook delicious, affordable meals.
The No Kid Hungry campaign works to shine a national spotlight on the crisis of childhood hunger in America, creating a powerful movement of individuals committed to bold action. We build partnerships that enlist influential individuals in the cause and advocate policy changes needed to achieve our goals.
