The Scottish Alliance Against Prejudice and Hate Crime, with the support of Action on Prejudice, is running a social media campaign from 16th October 2017 to support Hate Crime Awareness Week. SAAPaHC is asking people to question themselves and raise awareness of how Prejudice Leads 2 Hate by posting selfies with a friend or colleague and highlighting a difference or similarity which is not immediately obvious.
With over 50 organisations working individually and together to tackle Hate Crime in Scotland, SAAPaHC is using its reach to highlight that we have more in common than separates us and that our differences are no reason to discriminate or hate.
SAAPaHC grew from a group of Scottish equalities organisations funded through the Voluntary Action Fund and within a year has attracted a wider membership, which now includes the support of Police Scotland and the Scottish Government.SAAPaHC is asking you to support this campaign by signing up to share this first tweet and to share your own selfies using the hashtag #PrejudiceLeads2Hate
Action on Prejudice
Action on Prejudice is a new project looking to share information and resources on tackling prejudice and hate crime in Scotland. We are supporting the SAAPaHC Hate Crime Awareness Campaign to send a positive message of what we have in common and that our differences are no reason to hate.
