It's Time to Talk Climate

Recent Atlantic Ocean hurricanes, severe flooding in Asia, and the increase in severity of other natural and man-made hazards around the world, has many scientists and others wanting to speak up about the effects of climate change and the urgent need for individuals and communities to take action to mitigate, adapt to, and prevent these impacts in the future.

Join AGU, AAAS, and APA in speaking up about human-induced climate change and the urgency with which government officials at all levels need to act on climate. Now, while communities are rebuilding and the destructive impacts of these events are still fresh, is the time to talk about climate change.

Show your support by committing to having a constructive conversation with a friend, neighbor, colleague or family member about how climate change is impacting your community now or how it may in the future. Science and scientists (and those who support them), are a critical resource to help society understand the threats posed by climate change, and how to mitigate and prevent these threats in the future. A conversation about climate change that starts close to home can help influence the public perception of science and advance the dialogue happening around climate change.

Resources to help you start a conversation are available here.
