I'm fed up of wildlife being abused for entertainment. I'm fed up of celebs spreading an image that nature is scary and to be feared. How will we get more people to be engaged with the environment and care for it if this keeps happening?
Wouldn't you rather see celebs doing good? Promoting and helping nature? I want to see these people doing beach cleans, to save our marine wildlife from getting caught in and eating harmful plastics - plastics that we end up eating, helping hedgehogs and other declining species - or volunteering at nature reserves.
What about helping insects rather than eating them - studies show we've lost three quarters of our insects in the last 25 years! If we lose the insects then our entire ecological system is at risk of collapse! Don`t they know that our insects are our main pollinators of plants, and food source for birds, reptiles and small mammals?
I believe celebs should be positive role models and use their position to help and do good for the environment - and encourage their followers to do likewise!
An aspiring conservationist who believes we should promote the wonder and value of nature - not devalue it or perpetuate fear of it by `celebrities` for so-called 'entertainment' purposes.
