The devastation left by Typhoon Haiyan is
a humanitarian catastrophe. Millions in the Philippines are without
electricity. WakaWaka is getting solar powered lamps and chargers on the
ground - as many as we can, as soon as possible.
, supporters have two ways to help WakaWaka bring light and power back to survivors of Typhoon Haiyan: for every solar
powered charger and light purchased, the identical product will be provided
to a Filipino family in need or you can donate solar lamps directly through the WakaWaka Foundation.
Access to light and power is critical for survivors as well as
emergency response teams who need light sources to begin dealing with
the crisis. WakaWaka's solar powered devices provide immediate
assistance as well as long-term relief by enabling the survivors to see
after dark and to charge their phones to connect with family members and loved ones elsewhere.
Following relief efforts
in Syria, WakaWaka is working again with the International Rescue Committee to
ensure that the units reach families as soon as possible. We are also coordinating with UNHCR, Save the
Children, Child Fund, Cordaid, Habitat for Humanity, and the San Pedro, Philippines Rotary.
