Arduino Uno is among the most widely used platform in the world to learn microcontroller, electronics and coding in the classroom. However, from the market feedback and observation, we learned several typical problems faced by teachers that conduct the class as well as the students.
The secondary school students usually do not possess electronics knowledge at this age. To teach them Arduino Uno is very challenging for the first time because they have to learn both electronics circuit and coding skills at the same time. When the project doesn't work, the students and teachers are having difficulties to troubleshoot. This will discourage the students to further explore the beauty of Arduino.
We believe the conventional Arduino Uno can be improved to be more student-friendly by adding some extra features that they need and removing some functions that are not commonly used to reduce the cost.
Maker UNO project is jointly developed by Cytron Technologies and Arus Academy with the aim to reduce the barriers for teachers to conduct Arduino classes in the school. We hope the young students are able to equip themselves with the 21st-century skill sets to be more technology fluent by learning Arduino.
