Northern Ireland's largest pension fund, the Local Government Pension Scheme, has nearly £350m invested in fossil fuels.
This includes millions in Shell, BP, and Centrica - the first company to invest in fracking in the UK.
We can get this pension fund to sell off (divest) these assets, even without leadership from Stormont.
What we need to do first is get as many of our local councillors as possible to write to the governing body of the scheme - the Northern Ireland Local Government Superannuation Committee (NILGOSC) - demanding that they agree to divest by 2020.
This action is our key to getting the message to our councillors across Northern Ireland that this is what we want.
