The Identity Crisis Project

The Identity Crisis Project presents new opera called A Shoe Full of Stars.

After news of a terrorist attack shakes his world, a very ordinary teenager suddenly finds himself on a bizarre, magical island where conflict is bubbling up everywhere... and nothing is at it seems!

Award-winning professional opera makers working closely with teenagers from North Huddersfield Trust School have developed this comic, modern opera for younger audiences. Mixing styles from classical to grime, A Shoe Full of Stars is a funny, touching and not to be missed.

Our goal is to promote the performances so the young people have an audience to hear them:

  1. Wednesday 21 March 7.30pm at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield
  2. Sunday 25 March 4.00pm at the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, University of York

Opera Schmopera's mission is to entertain, inspire and engage young people with music and stories that are big, clever and funny. In collaboration with Gestalt Arts, The Identity Crisis Project aims to create a new opera about young people's reactions to terrorism.
