Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) which is a nonprofit organization that brings excess food from restaurants to homeless shelters through a network of volunteers. Starting on Earth Day, we are hosting RLC Restaurant Week, an event that highlights restaurants like Raclette, Dig Inn, and Sons of Thunder that donate their excess food. During the week of April 22nd to 29th, we are asking that our volunteers, supporters, and donors vote with their dollars to support restaurants that are actively doing something about food waste by donating their excess food.
Our goal is to make food rescue more mainstream. 40% of the food produced in this country is wasted and more than 1 million New Yorkers go hungry every night. Our goal is to make donating excess food the standard!
