What is Talk Spot?
Talk Spot is a BC-wide initiative by not-for-profit Speech and Hearing BC. It takes place during May, Speech and Hearing Month, and also coincides with Screen-Free Week, which runs from April 30 – May 6, 2018.
Face-to-face conversations are the best way to support children’s learning. A Talk Spot is anywhere you can communicate in person with someone you love: in the car, at the table, in the community centre, at the mall, or in the park.
We would love if you helped us by joining this Thunderclap.
Campaigns like this depend on communities getting the word out. You can help this year's inaugural Talk Spot succeed by joining this Thunderclap, sharing some of our prewritten social media posts and graphics, and creating your own Talk Spots with family and friends in community spaces all across BC.
We'd love for you to tag us!
If you are posting on Facebook or Instagram, tag Speech and Hearing BC by using @speechandhearingbc. If you are posting on Twitter, tag us @speechhearbc. Use the hashtag #talkspot so we can find your posts and continue the conversation.
Speech and Hearing BC
Speech and Hearing BC: a not-for-profit with more than 1200 volunteer member speech-language pathologists and audiologists in British Columbia. Our vision is that everyone in the province is empowered to communicate effectively. We offer resources and information to members of the public about identifying, living with and treating problems with their speech, language, hearing, voice, swallowing, fluency, or social communication.
