#FightTyranny in the PH!

The Philippines needs our voice and support now more than ever. The Filipino people are currently facing continuing “War on Drugs” that have already claimed the lives of an estimated 20,000 people, which in reality is a war on the poor; the continuing attacks against human rights defenders, church people, the press, women, indigenous peoples, trade unionists and peasants; an extended martial law in Mindanao; Duterte’s outright sell-out of Philippine sovereignty to foreign powers; and his dictatorial ambitions.

It is for this reason that we invite you to support the call to uphold human rights and democracy in the Philippines! Troubling times in the Philippines call for international solidarity, like the broad international solidarity with the Filipino people that peaked in the 80's under dark days and Iron Fist rule of former dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Solidarity and pressure from abroad played an important and influential role in the broadening support for the democratic movement in the Philippines that eventually removed Marcos himself from the presidency.

Oppose and reject the brutal Duterte administration, and affirm human rights and democracy in the Philippines. Here are just some ways to support freedom & democracy:

1) If you are in tri-state area, join us at the March for Human Rights and Democracy in the Philippines on 6/3/18 in New York City. Visit: www.malayamovement.com for full information.

2) Join the MALAYA Movement: http://bit.ly/joinmalaya

3) Follow MALAYA and share the campaign Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MalayaMovement/
