#SaveWILG

The goal of my campaign is to save the Welsh Independent Living Grant and preserve my life as an active member of my community. I am supported by the Government to live independently but this support is due to be withdrawn on March 31st, 2019 when cash strapped Local Authorities will be solely responsible for the Social care of disabled people with high care and support needs.

I was previously supported to live independently by the UK wide Independent Living Fund which closed in 2015. The Welsh Independent Living Grant was then introduced but the decision has now been made to close this and copy England in transferring the funds to Local Authorities. I have already been threatened with a drastic reduction in my hours of care and support by my Social worker. This closure cannot be allowed to happen as it will set disabled peoples rights back 30 years or more.
