On January 6th 2016, people around the world will be getting together to eat a meal based on pulses (beans, peas, lentils and chickpeas).
The United Nations has declared 2016 to be the Year of Pulses and our #PulseFeast will be a simple and delicious way for you to celebrate and help raise awareness of the sustainability, nutritional and health benefits of pulses for people and the planet.
So whether you want to make a statement about the importance of eating sustainably for the health of the planet, are looking for a great way to kick-start your healthy eating regime in 2016 or simply love eating pulses, why don’t you join us.
Getting involved couldn’t be simpler. All you have to do is get friends, family or work colleagues together for breakfast, lunch or dinner on the 6th January, at home, work or in a restaurant. If you are looking for culinary inspiration, click here [MT1] to visit our fantastic collection of pulse-based recipes, from spicy bean burgers and black bean chili to exotic Indian dishes.
We’d love to see any photos from your Pulse Feast, so why don’t you share a photo of your meal on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, using the hashtag #PulseFeast.
We also want to start a Thunderclap: a big bang of social media excitement that will spread the word about the #PulseFeast. Thunderclap is an app that allows organizations and their supporters to share a message on social media (Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr) automatically. That means that if you pledge your support, the Thunderclap app will automatically post a #PulseFeast message around the world at 12pm GMT on the 6th January.
