Tibet is an environmentally strategic area. And as the world focuses on climate action at the United Nations COP21 meetings and beyond, Tibet must be central to any progress made on climate change.
Tibet is facing retreating glaciers, deteriorating permafrost, degrading grasslands and increasing desertification. Over the past 50 years, the temperature of the Tibetan Plateau has increased three times the global average.
In the lead up to COP21, the Central Tibetan Administration is calling on world leaders to take urgent action on climate change starting with a strong global climate agreement in Paris.
We need Climate Action for the Roof of the World.
