We made it to 100!March 31, 2014Thank you to everyone who "donated" a Facebook post or Tweet for this Thunderclap project. We just reached the 100 mark, so our joint message will be sent at 10 a.m. Central time on Thursday, April 3.
But that's not all that's going to happen this week.
500 Cardboard Kids will be placed on random seats at the AT&T Center for the Wednesday, April 2 Spurs game. ChildSafe's Twitter and Facebook channels will be posting photos that night as the Cardboard Kids appear all over town.
ChildSafe will present at San Antonio City Council that morning at 10 a.m. -- just as our Thunderclap sounds! Then, ChildSafe will host a press conference at 11 a.m.
Now that you know who we are and what we are trying to do, please look for the Cardboard Kids -- all 5,846 of them -- as they appear around San Antonio this Thursday. Snap a pic and tag it #cardboardkidssa. OR send them to http://bit.ly/kidssa14 to find out more.
Thank you from me and from my friends at ChildSafe!
36 Supporters Away from the GoalMarch 26, 2014Today's photo depicts the NISD counselors who decorated Cardboard Kids recently as part of the effort. More than 80 organizations have been customizing the cardboard cutouts and getting them ready to appear April 3.
Thank you to all of you who have supported #cardboardkidssa so far.
As of this morning, we only need 36 more supporters to hit our target of 100. When that happens, the message will go out automatically on April 3 at 10 a.m. just as the ChildSafe team is meeting with City Council and as all 5,846 Cardboard Kids are appearing around town.
Each kid represents a victim of child abuse. As a community, we need to shed a big light on this problem, so we can tackle it as a community.
Our good friends at News 4 San Antonio just produced this PSA for us, which you can also share: http://youtu.be/aRqlghg9yyQ
Maybe today you can reach out to one more person to support our Thunderclap
10 down, 90 to go!March 21, 2014Thank you for being among the first to support our Thunderclap for #cardboardkidssa.
5,846 kids just like the one in this shopping cart represent cases of child abuse in our community LAST YEAR ALONE!
Cardboard Kids will be appearing all over San Antonio on April 3. Tell your friends to support our campaign by watching for these cardboard representatives all over town. When you see one, take a picture and tag it #cardboardkidssa.
Anyone else you can share this campaign with? Let's make a lotta Thunder!
